THE COMMUNITY
CHRISTIAN CHILDREN’S CHOIR INVITES CHILDREN K-12 TO “PEACEFUL”
CHALLENGE
Can you
draw “peace”? Can you describe “peace”? The Community Christian
Children’s Choir and the Christian Center for the Arts are
challenging area children (Kindergarten – 12th grade) to
express their thoughts and feelings about “peace” by participating
in an art and writing challenge. Coordinating this challenge with
the Spring Concert Series titled “Center – Peace”, the Choir is
wishing to stimulate the minds of children toward Peace and what it
means to them.
Children
can submit pieces of art or writing which describes their ideas
about peace. Entries in the Art category can be sketches,
paintings, drawings, colorings, etc. Writing entries can be poetry,
short stories or essays. Deadline for entries is April 12, 2008.
All entries need to relate to the “peace” theme and will be judged
by professionals that are knowledgeable in the specified arts.
“We hope
that this challenge will allow children to show Adults and their
peers what peace really means and how it should be expressed.
Children of any age group bring a simplicity and purity to the table
that we should all learn from.” said Pat Weitz, director of the
Community Christian Children’s Choir and Christian Center for the
Arts.
Entries
will be on display at the Millstone Performing Arts Center on
Sunday, May 4th during the Community Christian Choir’s
benefit “Center – Peace” concert, a musical performance regarding
the peace that comes through a spiritual balance in our lives.
Admission is free. A free will offering will be collected and all
proceeds will be donated to “Interfaith Quiet Fund”, a fund to help
those in the Millstone community in financial distress.
Details,
size restrictions and entry forms are available on the web at
www.ccchoir.com or via e-mail to
ccchoir@verizon.net or by calling the office (609) 587-7076.
Entries may be hand delivered to the CCC on Friday, April 11th from
3 – 9 pm or 10 am – 2 pm on Saturday, April 12th at the
Allentown United Methodist Church, 23 Church St., Allentown, NJ or
